¡Hola! Today we're learning how to talk about the weather — el tiempo. Weather is one of the most universal conversation topics, so this vocabulary is incredibly useful. One key thing to know: Spanish uses <em>hacer</em> (to do/make) for most weather expressions — which is a bit unusual! I've put the main phrases on the whiteboard.

Asking About the Weather

Common ways to ask and discuss weather: ¿Qué tiempo hace? (What's the weather like?) — the most common question. ¿Cómo está el tiempo? (How's the weather?). ¿Va a llover? (Is it going to rain?). ¿Cuál es la temperatura? (What's the temperature?). To give a forecast: Va a hacer calor mañana (It's going to be hot tomorrow), Dicen que va a nevar (They say it's going to snow).
